Baird Beer Philosophy
Baird Beer is fast becoming a flagship for the emerging Japanese craft beer scene around the world. From its humble beginnings, it has grown into a world-recognized brewery staying true to its motto, “Celebrating Beer”.
A family company, born from a deep passion for beer and a great reverence for brewing history, tradition and culture. Baird Beer truly lives by their motto, “Celebrating Beer”.
Bryan and Sayuri Baird’s desire to break free and make beer the way they like it all started in 1997 when they quit their jobs and moved to California to attend brewing school.
From humble beginnings, based out of their first Taproom in the Numazu fish market, they are still going strong today, and Baird beer has spread to eight locations, including a state of the art brewery in Shuzenji and a tap room in Los Angeles, California.
They say there are six fundamental elements that form the core of Baird Beer.
Bryan Baird likes to compare these elements to a strand of rope, each intertwined to give their beer and brewery strength.
