Hamamatsu Lake Experience
The Brackish Lake Hamana provides a full array of exciting and authentic experiences just a short train ride away from Hamamatsu Station.
Lake Hamana is Japan’s 10th largest lake and is a popular destination with a range of activities available including cycling, go karting, fishing, wind surfing and wakeboarding.
The following Model Course gives you an opportunity to mix Japanese History with a unique Boat Race experience, traditional night time fishing, great food, exciting lake activities and a relaxing Japanese Onsen.
2 mins walk from the station. Finalise your plans, bag storage, make last minute bookings.
Take the local train to Arai machi station and visit the Old Tokaido Highway Checkpoint.
Head to Bentenjima & walk on the beach & grab an early lunch at the local Diner.
Hamanako Boat Race
After lunch walk across the street to the Hamanako Boat Race Stadium.
Take a taxi to the accomm- odation and check in around 4pm.
Boats pickup from the docks outside the accomm- odation about half an hour before sunset.
After breakfast take a taxi to Kanzanji, wander through the town and visit the temple.
Enjoy the local cusine
Have lunch at one of the many restaurants in the town area – Japanese eel is a speciality of the area.
Try your hand at some of the marine sports available or just go for a boat cruise on the lake.
Finish the day watching Lake Hamana’s famous sunset from a roof top hot spring.
