Mishima Day Trip
Hop off the Bullet train at Mishima station and spend the day walking around the quaint and undiscovered town of Mishima.
Centuries ago the town of Mishima was an important stop on the Ancient Tokaido Highway.
It is a town of small rivers / canals and green leafy streets with a wide array of attractions easily accessible from the Bullet train station.
Mishima is a great day trip and has something for the whole family.

Clematis Garden
Jump on a free shuttle bus from Mishima Station to this lovely area & enjoy the morning exploring the sculpture gardens, museums, shops and restaurants *1st shuttle 09:40 / closed on Wed.
Lunch at the Gardens
After spending a couple of hours at the gardens pop into one of the restaurants in the area for lunch.
Rakuiyu Park & Petting Zoo
Rakujyu Park is a lovely sprawling Japanese garden with large pond that is filled with water filtered down from Mt Fuji. A Petting Zoo in the park is also a great option for kids.
Follow the Genbei River
From the park take the ‘Green Walkway’ and follow the Genbei River to Mishima Taisha Shrine.
Visit Mishima Taisha Shrine
Spend some time strolling through Mishima Taisha Shrine grounds and enjoy the Japanese gardens.
Try Mishima Eel at Sakuraya
Sakuraya was established in 1856 and is famous for its grilled eel – a delicacy in Japan.
