Mishima Day Trip
Hop off the Bullet train at Mishima station and spend the day walking around the quaint and undiscovered town of Mishima.
Centuries ago the town of Mishima was an important stop on the Ancient Tokaido Highway – today this quintessential Japanese town is not on many people’s travel radar. With most of the town’s best attractions easily accessible from the Bullet train station Mishima is a great day trip and has something for the whole family.
Train to Mishima Station
Jump on the free shuttle bus to this lovely area and enjoy the morning exploring the sculpture gardens, museums, shops and restaurants.
Lunch at the Gardens
After spending a couple of hours at the gardens pop into one of the restaurants in the area for lunch.
Visit Mishima Taisha Shrine
Take the free shuttle bus back to the station and it is then a 10 minute walk to Mishima Taisha Shrine – enjoy the Japanese gardens and visit the deer enclosure.
Do some shopping at Taisha no Mori
A short walk from Mishima Shrine is the stylish shopping area which provides a variety of food and drink to choose from with both Western and Japanese options.
Rakuiyu Petting Zoo
A great option for small children is the Rakujyu-en Petting Zoo and park just 3 minutes walk from Mishima Station South Exit.
