
Shuzenji Onsen Escape
Shuzenji is a small Hot Spring town with over a 1000 years of history that provides a chance to step back in time and forget about the world for a while.
The quiet enclave town of Shuzenji is said to have been established by the famous buddhist monk Kobo Daishi in the 9th century.

Check in to a local Ryokan or Minshuku.
Explore the Historical Town
Get fitted into a traditional Japanese kimono and wander through the lovely town area – enjoy a lunch and wasabi ice cream.
Relax riverside in your Ryokan
Relax in the onsen, read a book or enjoy a nice cup of Japanese green tea.
Explore the town at night
Feast on a traditional Japanese kaiseki course meal wander through the bamboo forest lit up and maybe another onsen before bed.
Day 2
Authentic Ryokan style breakfast
Enjoy a morning onsen and then full Japanese style breakfast in the Ryokan.
Taxi from Shuzenji to Darumayama
Take a taxi up to Darumayama for magnificent views of Mt Fuji and stop by to see the Niji no Sato Gardens.
Taxi from Niji no Sato to Nakaizu Winery
Taxi to Nakaizu Winery for lunch on the deck and a stroll through the vineyard grounds or try horse riding.
Craft Beer Tasting
One of Japan’s largest and most famous craft beer maker’s brewery is in Shuzenji – take a tour and sample some of the famous local brew.
