Walking on Water – Sightseeing & unique photo opportunity on Lake Hamana

Lake Hamana lies to the west of the coastal metropolis Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Once a true freshwater lake, Lake Hamana—now the tenth largest lake in Japan with a surface area of nearly 65 square kilometers (40 square miles)—turned brackish after a series of earthquakes and a tsunami in the year 1498.

Cruise the vast Lake Hamana for a luxurious experience. Feel the cool breeze on your skin while taking in the sparkling lake waters. After the cruise, you will visit a location called “Sey” that is unique to Lake Hamana. Lake Hamana changes throughout the day with the tide conditions.

During low tide, you will see many people wading through the shallows and taking photographs. Join in the fun and take commemorative photos while wading in the shallows of Lake Hamana.
