Located right on the coast of Suruga Bay which is famous for its abundance of seafood, many of the port towns close to Shizuoka offer some of the freshest seafood in Japan.

Famous as residence of possibly Japan’s most famous Samurai Lord Tokugawa Ieyasu Shizuoka holds a special place in Japanese history and the metropolitan city center retains much of its past charm.
